What could an iconic rock band, a hot supermodel, a mixed martial arts superstar and an extraordinary mid-sized sedan possibly have in common? Well, these are just some of the things that Generation X’ers would dream of.

This is probably what Kia Motors thought of when they made the new commercial for Kia Optima that is set to debut during the NBC broadcast of Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday night.

The rising car manufacturer from Seoul, Korea had a target market in the Kia Optima. This is why they tapped Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima, Glam Rock band Motley Crue and former Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Chuck Liddell to appear in their latest commercial for the Super Bowl. The spot will last 60 seconds and will debut during the fourth quarter of the game between the New England Patriots and New York Giants.

There is no question that Adriana Lima is one of the more popular supermodels of her generation. She is now married to former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Marko Jaric and they have a two-year old child. Yet the Brazilian supermodel mom still has a following among the Gen X male population and then some female fans too.

Motley Crue plays the song “Kickstart My Heart” in the commercial spot. Who would not recognize the band led by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee? They are still very much active in the music scene with shows going on at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Chuck Liddell may have retired from professional mixed martial arts but he has become the ambassador of the sport that has overtaken boxing in terms of popularity. The Iceman is still one of the most recognizable names in mixed martial arts as he along with part-time actor Randy ‘The Natural’ Couture and Tito Ortiz paved the way for the sport that also saw former WWE superstar Brock Lesnar bring the once underground sport into mainstream acceptance.

The choice of endorsers would surely be a hit among the target market for Kia’s 2012 Optima mid-sized sedan. Catch the Kia Motors “Drive the Dream” campaign that will feature these icons on Sunday night at Super Bowl XLVI.
